Senior Secondary education from National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)
School dropouts
who wish to study and qualify for a better tomorrow have a good opportunity
to do secondary and senior secondary education from National Institute of
Open Schooling (NIOS).
NIOS was set up in
1989 by Government of India, Ministry of Human Resources Development as an
autonomous organisation. It have about two thousand accredited institutions
in India, UAE, Nepal, Middle East, Canada and USA.
Recognition
Secondary Course
is equivalent to Class X and Senior Secondary is equivalent to Class XII.
These courses have the same recognition as certificate issued by other
Boards in India. NIOS has been vested with authority to conduct Public
Examinations at Secondary and Sr. Secondary level vide Government of India
resolution dated 14th September 1990.
Medium of study
At the Secondary
level, besides Hindi, English and Urdu, the choice of medium is also
available in Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi and Malayalam
Cost in Gulf
Countries
USD 600.00 which
includes Course fee, study materials and examination fee. Grant
of 50% concession in admission fee for labour class of Indian origin working
in UAE/Gulf countries for admission to Secondary Course of NIOS.
